Big Island Fun: Day 3

More fun was on Friday's agenda!  Mike, Chuck, Dawn and I stayed close to home, but had a great time exploring the area.  We started off with a picnic lunch by the beach.  As we were eating, we noticed whales about a mile off shore breaching and frolicking in the water.  Then, we went for a very hot hike through lava fields to an area with petroglyphs of ancient Hawaiians.  While we didn't know exactly what the images carved into rocks mean, the people obviously had a lot to say!  Then, we were off to the beach.  After a long day of play, we were all pretty tired.
