Snowshoe Hare & Sunday at Creamer's Field

Mike found this Snowshoe Hare on our lawn last week.

A few days later, the same hare wandered through, again.
Mike and I spent Sunday afternoon at
Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.
Here are some of our favorite pictures of our fun!

We found the first butterfly of the season!

Amazingly, no one else in the state of Alaska has seen this butterfly!

Canadian Geese migrate through Fairbanks on the journey north.

Hundreds of geese and Sandhill Cranes visit Creamer's Field
each Spring and Summer.

Canadian Geese search for food and love.

These two geese were considering being mates,
but suddenly decided to part ways.

"Hello???? Are there any available females out there?"

Kristie takes a break while Mike chases a butterfly.

Mike likes to read EACH and EVERY sign along the way.

Ahhhhh, love at last!

I hope these geese had there passports with photo ID
when they flew into U.S. airspace.

"Hey Gert! Stop flying so slow!"

"Stop your never-ending nagging about my flying, Herb!"

"If I have to honk one more time......"

The trail less traveled.

The first buds of the Spring Season are in bloom!!!!!

Bring on summer!

Fireweed from 2009.

By summer, the fireweed will be in full bloom.
